Job Description: Summary:
Ensure the most efficient means are employed to produce an accurate timely payroll, as well as providing up to date guidance on potential impact to management and employees.
Key Responsibilities:
• Independently seek, develop, and propose improvements to efficiently process high-volume bi-weekly payroll cycle including overseeing system upgrades, releases, patches, enhancements, and new versions in either areas:
• Developing spreadsheets for independent determination of payroll requirements, (e.g., LOAs, retroactive termination payments, anticipated severance payments, and garnishments) that cannot be handled by the system; this includes ongoing reviews of compensation payments prior to system entry.
• Time Management System (TMS): Identifying business solution improvements; establish vendor requirements to ensure the delivery of solutions
• Lead portions of projects including developing and delivering training, communication, and ensuring adoption by users
• Develop and analyze queries and ad hoc reports to meet data request specifications from internal and external sources, as well as determining most efficient and effective software for report production
• Determine need for and provide guidance to employees to ensure their understanding of a variety of payroll implications, e.g., multi-state taxation, relocation, LOA
• Represent Edwards to third-party vendors to ensure services provided meet company standards
• Other duties as assigned by leadership
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Accounting, Computer Systems, or related field, 4 years’ experience in Payroll analysis required
Additional Skills:
• Proven expertise in MS Office Suite and payroll related systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills
• Proven success adhering to and leading project schedules and managing moderate sections of projects
• Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills Ability to build productive internal/external working relationships
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of payroll analysis
• Advanced understanding of payroll principles, practice and standards
• Good negotiation and conflict resolution skills
• Good leadership skills
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships across the organization to influence change
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment
• Ability to assess risks, analyze situations and determine next course of action
• Strict attention to detail
• Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels
