Network Architect with OT Security

Location: Minnetonka, MN(5 days onsite)

Mandatory Skills: Architectural diagrams, NICE Contact Center

Good to Have Skills: Cisco-sdn-network-administration, Genesys Contact-Center, HP DC/Branches Routers and Switches, Juniper DC/Branches Routers and Switches, Microservices, Software Engineering and Design Architecture

 

Role Description
  • Provide L2 L3 operational and architectural support for manufacturing OT networks supporting MES and adjacent OTIT services across on-prem cloud and inter-site connectivity.
  • This role implements maintains and operates secure segmented and highly available manufacturing networks in accordance with established OT network standards reference architectures and cybersecurity requirements The role supports both Run operations and Project deployment and expansion activities.
  • The OT Network Architect operates across shopfloor manufacturing networks OT DMZ enterprise IT and cloud connectivity with the ability to distinguish and resolve issues originating at the cell-area level versus enterprise or cloud domains.
  • This position is not equivalent to an enterprise IT network engineer Network segmentation deterministic performance and production uptime are foundational requirements.

Hard Skills
  • Advanced L2/L3 routing and switching in manufacturing and OT environments.
  • Execution of network designs and capacity planning for production systems.
  • Implementation of Purdue Model aligned segmentation cell -area zones OT DMZ enterprise boundaries.
  • Cisco Firepower firewall configuration and operational troubleshooting.
  • Secure connectivity between Shop floor networks OT DMZ Enterprise IT Cloud services.
  • Support of secure remote access solutions in coordination with OT cybersecurity e.g. Beyond Trust or equivalent.
  • High availability implementation redundancy failover QoS and performance troubleshooting.
  • Network monitoring and observability using Nagios and related tools.
  • Root cause analysis for latency packet loss jitter and intermittent. manufacturing issues.
  • Execution of network deployments aligned to approved standards and reference designs.

Soft Skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with shopfloor personnel site engineering OT cybersecurity and infrastructure teams.
  • Strong operational judgment during production impacting incidents.
  • Ability to apply defined standards consistently across sites and deployments.
  • Effective collaboration with vendors integrators and internal teams
  • Clear disciplined documentation including.
  • Network diagrams L2 L3 and segmentation.
  • Firewall and access documentation.
  • Runbooks and troubleshooting guides.
  • Commitment to knowledge transfer and operational consistency.

Experience
  • 8-10 years of hands-on network engineering experience
  • Demonstrated experience supporting manufacturing MES or OT environments.
  • Proven experience operating segmented secure and highly available OT networks.
  • Experience working within cybersecurity governed change-controlled environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to distinguish and resolve shopfloor vs enterprise network issues.
  • Experience supporting both steady-state operations and project deployments.
  • Size and complexity of the manufacturing facility.
  • Criticality of OT network segmentation.
  • Need for direct engagement with shopfloor and engineering teams.
  • Flexibility to support North American multisite operations including of hours escalation.
