Key Responsibilities
- Administer Oracle GoldenGate replication environments, including Extract, Pump, and Replicat processes across multiple systems.
- Monitor replication lag, trail files, disk usage, and overall replication pipeline health.
- Troubleshoot GoldenGate issues such as ABENDs, trail corruption, checkpoint failures, and perform recovery, restart, and failover procedures.
- Validate replication pipelines, reconcile data across environments, and manage DDL replication and onboarding of new tables.
- Optimize GoldenGate performance through tuning, batching, checkpoint optimization, and parallel processing.
- Support change and release management activities for replication pipelines.
- Collaborate with database, networking, and application teams to resolve replication-related issues.
- Maintain operational documentation and runbooks for recurring incidents and recovery procedures.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle GoldenGate Classic and Microservices Architecture (19c/23ai).
- Expertise in configuring and administering Extract, Pump, Replicat, Trail Files, Integrated Replicat, and Parallel Replicat.
- Proven experience troubleshooting replication lag, Extract/Replicat ABENDs, collision handling, checkpoint issues, DEFGEN, and large-volume initial loads.
- Experience implementing and supporting homogeneous and heterogeneous replication environments (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, Snowflake, Kafka).
- Strong knowledge of multi-hop replication architectures, high availability, disaster recovery, and active-active replication.
- Experience securing Oracle GoldenGate environments using encryption, authentication, credential management, and monitoring.
- Knowledge of Oracle Database internals and replication performance tuning.
- Experience with multi-cloud deployments including OCI, Azure, GCP, and On-Premises environments.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Oracle AlloyDB replication.
- Exposure to downstream integrations with Snowflake.
- Experience supporting large-scale environments with 150+ replication jobs/pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with Shell scripting and automation.
- Experience with enterprise monitoring tools and custom monitoring solutions.
