Job Role:- QA Lead Manual Testing

Job Location:- Mississauga, Ontario

 

Job Description
  • Define and own the test strategy, test plan, scope, and entry/exit criteria for the RDSP product workstream
  • Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and regulatory rules to derive end-to-end test coverage
  • Identify testing risks and establish mitigation strategies in alignment with program delivery timelines
  • Coordinate with the QA Manager, BAs, and project management to align testing milestones with the overall RDSP launch schedule
  • Establish testing standards, templates, and documentation practices across the team
  • Lead the design, review, and execution of manual test cases covering core RDSP scenarios — account opening, contributions, CDSG/CDSB grant processing, withdrawal rules, beneficiary management, and regulatory reporting
  • Perform exploratory and risk-based testing to uncover edge cases specific to RDSP eligibility and Income Tax Act / ESDC requirements
  • Validate business logic, data calculations, workflow rules, and UI behavior across front-end and back-office systems
  • Ensure test cases are traceable to business requirements and regulatory obligations
  • Mentor junior testers and review test artifacts for accuracy and completeness
  • Serve as the primary QA liaison for User Acceptance Testing with business stakeholders
  • Prepare UAT test plans, scripts, and onboarding guides tailored for business users
  • Own the full defect lifecycle — logging, triaging, prioritizing, assigning, and tracking to closure in tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps
  • Chair daily or as-needed defect triage sessions with development, BA, and business teams, driving alignment on severity, priority, and fix timelines
  • Maintain defect dashboards and provide regular quality status reports to program leadership
  • Conduct root cause analysis on critical defects and contribute findings to post-release retrospectives
  • Provide weekly testing status updates including test execution progress, defect metrics, risks, and blockers
  • Escalate quality risks proactively with recommended mitigations
  • Contribute to Go/No-Go decision-making by presenting clear quality evidence at release gates
  • Maintain comprehensive test documentation including test plans, execution logs, and sign-off records for audit and compliance purposes
