Job Title: QE Test Automation Engineer
Experience: 5–8 Years
Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled QE Test Automation Engineer with strong experience in automation and API testing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks, ensuring high-quality software delivery in an agile environment.

Mandatory Skills
  • Cypress with JavaScript (Automation Testing)

Good to Have Skills
  • Postman for API Testing
  • Ready API

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform manual and API testing for new development features
  • Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end (E2E) test automation scripts
  • Execute continuous testing using tools like Jenkins and Sauce Labs, ensuring high automation coverage
  • Conduct in-sprint API and web automation testing for scheduled releases
  • Maintain and enhance regression test suites
  • Create test plans, test strategies, test cycles, and detailed test cases
  • Analyze automation execution reports and identify defects
  • Develop API automation tests and database validations using Python (pytest framework)
  • Manage tasks and workflows using Jira, ensuring timely delivery
  • Collaborate with development and product teams in an agile environment

Required Qualifications
  • 5–8 years of experience in test automation (Web & API)
  • Hands-on experience with Cypress and Selenium (Java)
  • Strong experience in API testing using Postman or similar tools
  • Solid understanding of testing methodologies (Functional, Regression, Sanity, Smoke, White-box, Black-box)
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Xray, Confluence)
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language: Java, Python, or JavaScript
  • Experience with version control systems like GitHub or SourceTree
  • Strong knowledge of defect lifecycle management
  • Ability to work in agile teams and collaborate effectively
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills

Nice to Have
  • Experience with mobile automation using Appium
  • Knowledge of tools like Grafana, Kibana, Rundeck, AWS
  • Experience with Sauce Labs
  • Domain experience in Fintech

Additional Requirements
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in high-pressure environments
  • Self-driven and capable of working both independently and collaboratively
