Job Title: WebMethods Integration Developer (Hybrid)
Work Location: Hybrid – Initial onsite onboarding followed by weekly onsite presence (mid‑week) with remote work on other days.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced WebMethods Integration Developer to design, develop, and support enterprise integrations and APIs for large‑scale business and technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on expertise with the webMethods integration platform, including webMethods.io, and experience integrating enterprise systems such as ERP, GIS, asset management, and document management platforms. This role requires a senior‑level integration engineer who can deliver secure, scalable, and well‑documented solutions while collaborating closely with business and technical stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
API Design and Development Design and develop RESTful and SOAP‑based APIs using the webMethods platform
Develop integrations supporting enterprise systems such as ERP, GIS, asset management, project controls, and document management systems
Implement secure API authentication and authorization mechanisms including OAuth 2.0, JWT, and SAML
Ensure data exchange using standardized formats including JSON and XML
Create and maintain API documentation using OpenAPI (Swagger)
Manage API versioning, backward compatibility, and controlled deprecation System Integrations and Middleware Analyze existing platforms to identify and implement optimal integration patterns
Develop middleware and connectors to enable interoperability between legacy systems, cloud platforms, and third‑party applications
Design and deploy event‑driven and asynchronous integrations, including webhook‑based architectures where appropriate
Implement robust error handling, transactional integrity, logging, and monitoring across integrations Security and Compliance Ensure integrations comply with enterprise security standards and industry best practices
Implement encryption for data in transit and at rest
Use secure API gateways and follow secure software development practices
Maintain audit trails and detailed transaction logs Scalability and Performance Design solutions for high availability, resiliency, and horizontal scalability
Define and implement performance benchmarks such as throughput and latency requirements
Optimize integrations to support mission‑critical business processes Testing, Quality Assurance, and Documentation Develop and execute unit, integration, system, and UAT test plans
Use webMethods Test Suite to support automated and regression testing
Produce comprehensive technical documentation
Provide knowledge transfer and ongoing support to internal teams
Mandatory Qualifications Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience developing solutions using the webMethods integration platform
At least 2 years of experience with webMethods.io or webMethods Cloud Integration (IC)
Proven experience developing SAP RFC integrations
Strong experience developing custom Java services for integrations
Senior‑level proficiency with webMethods technologies, including: Integration Server
Universal Messaging
API Gateway
webMethods Test Suite
Trading Networks (EDI/B2B)
Java service development
Preferred Qualifications Industry certifications related to integration or API platforms (Software AG webMethods, MuleSoft, AWS, Azure, or similar)
Experience supporting public sector, utilities, or energy industry initiatives
Strong understanding of secure software development practices, identity and access management, and cybersecurity controls
